Cream puff and eclairs making

Today, the FNN student went to 201 keppel road for a baking course. We baked to items cream puff and eclairs. The name of the place is Baking Industry Training Centre(BITC).We went there by bus.
When we reached there, we were told to put our bag down, take our items and go to the kitchen. We had ourselves group in two or three. We were introduce to our instructor Khoo Kim Leng.we measured the margarine, water and flour. We were told to boil the margarine and water together. When the mixture boils we are suppose to put the flour in it. we had to keep on stirring to prevent our mixture from getting burnt. Next we put it into the cake mixing machine.they cake mixing machine was mixing up the mixture.we had to wait till the mixture was cold before putting the eggs in.After putting the eggs in,the mixture was very sticky.

Our instructor gave us the piping tip and piping paper. We had to pipe the puff and the eclairs. For the puff,we had to squeeze the piping mixture to formed a star shaped. And for the eclair we had to squeeze and drag it along to make a line. For piping of the puff we have to hold the piping nozzles straight and the eclairs to hold at an angle of 45* angle. We had to write our names on the baking tray.It was soon in the oven baking. After 20 minutes we took it out.

We had to cut the eclairs and puff at the side and pipe in the cream. After piping in the cream, our instructor had melted chocolate and were ready to put on the eclairs. We had to dumped the top side of it in the chocolate. After dumping them we had to place it in the fridge to harden up the chocolate. After that we packed it in our container and set off for home.It was an exciting and enjoying experience for all of us.

Rush

Swallows may have gone, but there is a time of return; willow trees may have died back, but there is a time of regreening; peach blossoms may have fallen, but they will bloom again. Now, you the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return? - If they had been stolen by someone, who could it be? Where could he hide them? If they had made the escape themselves, then where could they stay at the moment? I don't know how many days I have been given to spend, but I do feel my hands are getting empty. Taking stock silently, I find that more than eight thousand days have already slid away from me. Like a drop of water from the point of a needle disappearing into the ocean, my days are dripping into the stream of time, soundless, traceless. Already sweat is starting on my forehead, and tears welling up in my eyes. Those that have gone have gone for good, those to come keep coming; yet in between, how swift is the shift, in such a rush? When I get up in the morning, the slanting sun marks its presence in my small room in two or three oblongs. The sun has feet, look, he is treading on, lightly and furtively; and I am caught, blankly, in his revolution. Thus--the day flows away through the sink when I wash my hands, wears off in the bowl when I eat my meal, and passes away before my day-dreaming gaze as reflect in silence. I can feel his haste now, so I reach out my hands to hold him back, but he keeps flowing past my withholding hands. In the evening, as I lie in bed, he strides over my body, glides past my feet, in his agile way. The moment I open my eyes and meet the sun again, one whole day has gone. I bury my face in my hands and heave a sigh. But the new day begins to flash past in the sigh. What can I do, in this bustling world, with my days flying in their escape? Nothing but to hesitate, to rush. What have I been doing in that eight-thousand-day rush, apart from hesitating? Those bygone days have been dispersed as smoke by a light wind, or evaporated as mist by the morning sun. What traces have I left behind me? Have I ever left behind any gossamer traces at all? I have come to the world, stark naked; am I to go back, in a blink, in the same stark nakedness? It is not fair though: why should I have made such a trip for nothing! You the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return?

(This article is a famous Chinese article,I had just translated it)

Feeling of exam

I come from China, there were many test when I stay there. It’s my feeling.
We often hear people say “Examinations are teachers' magic weapon”, so most of us may think it is our teachers who give us students so many examinations. But I don't think so. Almost all of them have once been students before they became teachers. We don't like examinations, and neither do our teachers, which may be reasonably concluded. What's more, the more examinations we take, the more time will be taken from our teachers and the more troubles our teachers have to take.It is the system in our country, I think, that gives us students so many examinations. If there were no entrance examinations, and all the students could go up to the higher grades without competition, there would not be so many examinations in primary and middle schools. So it is important and necessary to reform the entrance system. Only in this way can examinations be GREatly reduced, and then all the students will be happier.

Do not get distrupted by your friends beside you. Pay attention and start taking down notes. it will help you in a way or another. this are some of the advice i have for now. i will post more if i have some. Be prepared people because I have learnt my lesson.XD. Do not be like me.

The novel is told through the eyes of an older, much more matured John Wheelwright who elaborates on the stuffs happening surrounding his close friendship with Owen Meany during the 1950s and 1960s, which he says is responsible for his belief in God. Owen is very short and his voicebox is fixed so that he sounds as if he is always screaming. Owen, being the shortest one amongst his friends makes him the butt of many jokes and pranks, though his peers do not generally dislike him. Children and adults alike seem drawn to and almost protective of Owen. Owen is also the recipient of many special privileges, such as getting to play the baby Jesus in a Christmas pageant because he is the only actor who can fit in the crib and not cry.

The novel deals with several spiritual issues, such as the importance of faith, social justice, and fate. John and Owen both offer criticisms of some aspects of organized religion and the hypocrisy of some religious people throughout the novel. The spiritual dimension is also brought up by Owen's repeated foretelling of his own death. He is quite certain that he will die because he is an "instrument of God", thus serving some good purpose. He even believes that he knows the date of his death, and that a heroic act on his part will kill him, but also save some children. He is a bit unclear, however, about where it will happen.

Young John is skeptical of Owen's unquestioned belief in the purpose of all things for several reasons, namely, his mother's premature death (as the result of the impact of a baseball hit by Owen), and his mother's failure ever to disclose his father's identity. John is depicted as being spiritually influenced as a youth, but the conclusion brings these spiritual pieces of the story together. Since the novel is written retrospectively, much of the novel takes the tone of John's newfound wisdom.
Turning Backs

Stuck in a world you thought you once knew
Now everyone's turning their backs on you
Once quiet girls, like puppies on rugs
Have turned their backs and started doing drugs
The boy next door that you liked for years
Has turned his back and started drinking beers
All of these changes are going around
And you kick and scream but they don't hear a sound
What happened to the innocence so easy to find?
You wonder if you're the only one who still has their mind
They try to pull you in and you know you might fall
But nobody knows there's a solution to it all
Right over this wall you can have your life back
Of friends, and laughter, be back with your pack
There's no need to worry, no need to fear
All of the innocence you know is still here
There are just a few obstacles you know you must climb
Persuading and begging to get back your mind
You cannot give up the prize is far too great
Just hope your obstacles don't make you too late
Do all you can to help your chains break
This is all real, nothing is fake
You're stuck in a world you thought you once knew
Turn your back on your world they've turned theirs on you

"On the whole, computer games are bad for students."

The game markets are gradually rising and at the same time the process of producing computer game is improving. Now we can see many kinds of computer games at the computer games shop. There are largely two types of computer games, one is CD package programme games and the other is on-line games. Many computer games are by themselves not harmful. However some contain excessive violence, sexual content and other undesirable things for teenagers.

Excessive violence is the most serious problem that harms teenagers. In the west, teenagers are more violent that their counterparts in other areas. These western governments like US allow guns and drugs. In the western schools, there are also many cases of school violence.
The teenagers' individual personality also suffers from the excessive playing of the computer games. The students who play the game excessively are unstable and may take drugs. In the end, some even die from playing the games all day long. In South Korea, there were several cases of death due to excessive playing of computer games. A salary man, Mr Park, who had been fired from his company stayed at an internet cafe and played games for three days without rest. On the third day, the owner of the internet cafe found the man dead ar his shop.

Phisical problems also result form playing too much computer games. Normally, these game players do not eat well and neglect their personal hygene. In addition, as they only excercise their fingers, they could easily became unfit and hence, unwell.

As they cannot take care of themselves, parents need to look after them while their children are playing games. However, spending proper time for playing games helps the students to plan their time logically and they can relax their minds with excitment and interesting content.

A students' duty is to study hard and play hard. Playing games cannot be done all the time but only for leisure and as a pastime. It is wrong if a student spends more time to play games than to study.

My senior school in china

My senior school in china
Before I am studying in pioneer secondary school, I was studying in a senior school of china. One year had gone. I thought out some difference between the two schools above.
Firstly, the timetables are different.
5,40am students must reach school
7,10am breakfast time
8, 10-8,55am first lesson
9, 05-10,50am second lesson
11, 00-11,45am third lesson
11, 55-12,40pm fourth lesson
12, 50-2,30pm lunch time (some students eat at school, someone eat outside of school and someone choose to go home)
2, 40 –3,25pm fifth lesson
3, 35—4,20pm sixth lesson
4, 30—5,15pm seventh lesson
5, 25—6,10pm eighth lesson
6, 20—6,50pm dinner time
7, 00—7,50pm self-study course 1
8, 00—8,50pm self-study course 2
9, 00—9,50pm self-study course 3
Only after 10,00pm students went back home or dormitory for sleep.
Do you know how many holidays our school has? Only one day break every three weeks. Too short.
Secondly, the numbers of students in one class are different. There are more than 80 person in my class while 3v6 has 40(fantastic forty) only.

What are the factors that contribute to the property of a country?

Nowadays, all countries are ruled by a specific organization called a "government".This government is made up of citizen leaders of a country. There are still a lot of conflicts and troubles among the countries. Hence the respective countries have to search for peace with each other. The prosperity of a country can make the citizens’ lives better and satisfy their wants. Making people happy is one of the most important duties of the government.

A good leader makes contributions for the country. This leader is responsible for what he thinks and what he does. As what he thinks and what he does could determine the country’s future. A country has an Army, political parties and economy.

However, these factors could have problems although the leader of the country is good, what the people think and possess is different. The people involved in an Army, politician parties and economies are human beings. They can make some mistakes which may be quite serious. If these heads of the country get in trouble, the citizens will protest all will not follow what the government says. For example, the first Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kwan Yew, was quite a great leader. Even though the merger with Malaysia fell through agreement, he could cope very well with it and founded Singapore as an independent country and one of the most influential countries in the whole world.

At this moment, I want to state that the citizens have to select the leader who is able to deal with any situation. Sometimes, the citizens may give an uncertain leader to govern the country. By doing so, they could lead to other civil unrests. For instance, In Republic of Korea, there are still many troubles and abuse of power and graft amongst the politicians. They work apparently for the moral duties, but the truth is, it is for their own benefits.

To make the contribution for the prosperity of a country, very close relationship between the government and the citizens is neccessary.

What is Peking Opera

Peking Opera is known as China's national opera, which originated in the late 18th century, is a synthesis of music, dance, art and acrobatics. It is the most influential and representative of all operas in China. The form was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty court and has come to be regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China.Major performance troupes are based in Beijing and Tianjin in the north, and Shanghai in the south. The art form is also enjoyed in Taiwan, and has spread to other countries such as the United States and Japan.
Beijing opera features four main types of performers. Performing troupes often have several of each variety, as well as numerous secondary and tertiary performers. With their elaborate and colorful costumes, performers are the only focal points on Beijing opera's characteristically sparse stage. They utilize the skills of speech, song, dance, and combat in movements that are symbolic and suggestive, rather than realistic. Above all else, the skill of performers is evaluated according to the beauty of their movements. Performers also adhere to a variety of stylistic conventions that help audiences navigate the plot of the production. The layers of meaning within each movement must be expressed in time with music. The music of Beijing opera can be divided into the Xipi and Erhuang styles. Melodies include arias, fixed-tune melodies, and percussion patterns. The repertoire of Beijing opera includes over 1,400 works, which are based on Chinese history, folklore, and, increasingly, contemporary life.
In recent years, Beijing opera has attempted numerous reforms in response to sagging audience numbers. These reforms, which include improving performance quality, adapting new performance elements, and performing new and original plays, have met with mixed success. Some Western works have been adopted as new plays, but a lack of funding and an adverse political climate have left Beijing opera's fate uncertain as the form enters the 21st century.

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix Book

The book 'Harry Potter And The Order Of Phoenix' was published in 21st of June 2003, it became more popular in 2007,together with the movie i think, the book consists of 38 chapters and I prefer the book's ending to the movie's ending. The book's ending is much more longer than the movie, the movie's ending is not perfect at all ! In the book, Dumbledore explains to Harry why Vodermort wants to kill him... and so ...

'Dumbledore apologizes to Harry for withholding information over the past 5 years. He reveals the lost prophecy given to him by Sybill Trelawney, for it was to him that it was first told: either Harry or Voldemort must die at the hands of the other, for neither can live while the other survives. Dumbledore also reveals that, due to when the boy was predicted to be born, Neville Longbottom could also have been the child in the prophecy. Dumbledore believes Voldemort chose to attack Harry because he is a half-blood like himself; Neville is a pureblood. In so doing, the Dark Lord marked Harry as his equal. Dumbledore also discloses why he continues to send Harry back to the Dursleys' home for the summer. He tells Harry that when his mother died to protect him, this initiated an ancient magic. As long as Harry stays at the house of his blood-relative long enough to call it a home, it would provide for him a shield protection not even Voldemort is able to overcome. Furthermore, Dumbledore explains to Harry why he had not made him a prefect: he thought that Harry had enough to worry about and did not want to burden him with more responsibilities'

The book also tell us how Harry got over with his godfather ( Sirus Black ) death ...

'Just before the end of the school year, Harry confronts Nearly Headless Nick, and asks if Sirius can come back as a ghost. Nick explains that Sirius "will have...gone on", as very few wizards and witches choose to remain on Earth as ghosts. Still overcome with grief, Harry finds Luna Lovegood sticking posters asking for the whereabouts of her lost possessions. She tells Harry that while some students harass her by taking her items and hiding them, she calmly replies that "They'll come back in the end, they always do." Taking this in context with his recent loss of Sirius, Harry feels slightly better. At King's Cross station, several Order members escort Harry to meet the Dursleys. Alastor Moody warns Vernon Dursley that if they give Harry any trouble over the summer, they will intervene. Harry leaves with the Dursleys to head back to 4 Privet Drive.'

In the movie, more concentration was put on how they battle Vodermort, making the movie super boring for me, the ending was terrible in there, showing only Dumbledore apologizing to Harry, not too much into explaining what really happened in the story and how Harry got over with his Godfather's death. In other words, the movie's ending was not what I expected... I guess many of us prefer the book's ending to the movie's. Hope they can make the next Harry Potter movie better.

One Year Before Beijing Olympic Games

Today, in one year, the Beijing Olympic will open,

China starts the countdown of the opening of the 2008 Olympic.

Many China citizens assembled in the Tian'AnMen Square to celebrate this inviolable day, which

is ONE year before Beijing Olympic. When i read this news on the Internet, i was quite excited

because the Beijing Olympics was coming soon.

On 13th July,2001.I watched the live programme of the final result which announced by Mr.

Juan Antonio Samaranch, the IOC President at that time. After he said the name of the host city,

which is Beijing.ALL the people of China were just like boiling, they were too happy to play their

emotion cool.

ONE year later from TODAY,The olympic really came.

The game will start at 8:08 on 08/08/08. The 8 is a lucky number in China despite that
officially superstition is not allowed in China.

This is the National Olympic Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, in Beijing.

This is the National Natatorium, also known as "Water Cube"

China is hoping to spotlight its return to prominence on the world stage by making the games
the best ever.

"We should remember this is not the first time that games have had to deal with challenges in

this field," Rogge said. He is the IOC President for now.

It is a pity that i have to prepare for my "O" level examinations when the Beijing Olympic
curtains up. =p

Dinosaur

I found a cool news!

An amateur paleontologist in Switzerland may have unearthed Europe's largest dinosaur mass grave after he dug up the remains of two Plateosaurus during house-building.

The peaceful herbivore -- measuring up to 10 meters from head to tail -- roamed river deltas in large herds some 210 million years ago, according to some scientists, when most of Switzerland was covered with desert and its landscape may have looked much like the estuary of the Nile now.

National Day!! (:

Greetings. This is the post about our school's National Day's celebration 2 days ago, on 8 August 2007. We were all exuberant. It first started with the drills of our uniform groups and our dear prefects, accompanied with the Band's music, and I must say it was fantastic and well
synchronized. Great job guys!

How they look like from a bird's eye view. (:

Beautiful. The trainings and practices and rehearsals paid off well, huh?

After that, we had to sing the National Anthem and say the Pledge. I was glad to see that everyone joined in the singing of the Anthem and the Pledge. The singing was loud and clear. Absolutely wonderful. (:

Then came the National Day Speech and was followed by the recollections led by Azeerah and..another girl. (Sorry, I don't know her name. Haha.)

They done a great job too. Great confidence to speak in front of the whole school! If it was me, I would have been stuttering the whole time. Tsk.

Last but not least, we did some singing that was led by our Choir! (: Everyone was ebullient and sang along, having loads of fun! The Choir was mellifluous. Simply beautiful!

Happy belated National Day, Singapore! (:

One People, One Nation, One Singapore!!

Student leadership training workshop- level 3,the power of influence

On monday, 6th of August, i attened this workshop and the trainer , Freddy , talk about self-esteem and showed us two videos. One of the videos is about a girl, Connie, 6 years old joined 'Britain's got talent' and sings 'somewhere over the rainbow' and impressed the judgers.

She is only 6 years old and she dare to sing in front of so many audience but she isn't afriad of anything. She is so amazing, so soulful at her age and she managed the controlling of her range of voice so well.

Unlike her, the other guy named Paul, he has low self-esteem and no confidence in himself but managed to be the champion of the 'Britain's got talent'...! And the winner of this, will get to sing in front of the Queen. As usual, the judgers were so surprised by his performance.

We learn that

-communication is 7% words, 38%tone and 55% body language . And that how these 3 things afffect the respond you get , such as everyone has a different perspective of things in life ,when someone resist to an idea , every action, cause and effect is a base has a positive reason behind it and that a person with the most strategy and is able to carry them out...etc.

-The meaning of rapport. Raport is gained when we increase similarities and decrease differences and is very useful in the context of meetings, trainings and even one to one communication. When rapport is established with someone, the person will be more open to your suggestions and influence.

Overall, i find this workshop quite useful and i learn to have confindence in myself and in things that i do. Let's hope that the school will organise more of this workshop for the student leaders in our school.

Lastly, i wished everyone a Happy National Day..! And Happy Birthday to Singapore..!

The Meaning of Roses

3/4 of men say they would love to get flowers and most women love floral gifts as well. Now here is something you may not know: Color Talks! Although it is commonly accepted that all roses convey warmth and affection, the person receiving them may know and understand the meaning of roses colors and the symbolic message conveyed. It would be nice to insure that you are communicating the right message to that special person. Read on to find the meaning of the color of roses!

Black roses stand for the color of Death. Death of certain “set” ideas, thoughts, and beliefs. It signifies a major change in the future.

Purple roses stand for enhancement, majesty and glory and mean I will always love you. Lavender roses symbolize caution and the need to proceed slowly and carefully. Lavender roses also indicate a need for discretion but it is also becoming widely accepted as representing love at first sight and enhancement. Burgundy roses mean unconscious beauty. Lilac represents the first emotions of love.

Blue roses stand for fantasies, hoping for miracles, new opportunities and possibilities.

Orange roses indicate enthusiasm, desire and fascination. The orange rose says, "I am proud of you!"

Coral roses signify desire.

Peach roses signify desire, anticipation, sincere appreciation and optimism for the future. Pale peach roses are a symbol of modesty.

Pink roses stand for elegance, gracefulness, refinement, gentility, style and poetic romance but are combined with fun and light-heartedness. It is the rose of sweet thoughts and thank yous. Pink roses also signify gratitude, sympathy and appreciation. Dark pink stands for thank you, appreciation and gratitude. Light pink roses convey admiration, sympathy, gentleness, grace, gladness, joy, friendship and sweetness. The combination of red roses and pink roses stands for strong romance and passion. Dark Pink roses are symbolic of thankfulness while pale pink roses are a symbol of joy and grace.

Red roses symbolize romance, beauty, respect, courage, passionate love and unity and are the most popular of all roses. Red roses also stand for the creative spirit of love, the true love stronger than thorns. True red is the Lover’s rose. Amaranth red means long-standing desire, Cardinal red means sublime desire. Carmine means false desire (not true desire). Fiery red means flames of passion. Red rosebuds are meant to reflect the beauty of a young lover and mean “pure and lovely”. Red roses in full bloom say, "I love you still." Red & White roses together signify unity or togetherness. They are given when facing a challenging life event or to celebrate a strengthening relationship. Red and yellow blended means gaiety and loyalty, jovial and happy feelings.

White roses represent unity, loyalty, reverence, humility, love stronger than death, sincerity, purity, silence and innocence as well as youthfulness. Sometimes called the "flower of light," the white rose also means spiritual love and anticipation of happiness. White roses can also be used to highlight the message of the other rose colors. White (Bridal) roses symbolize a happy love. White rosebuds can also signify girlhood or “too young to love.”

Yellow roses signify strong feelings of pure joy, gladness, happiness and friendship, but were once used to convey jealousy. Friendship is the main meaning of the yellow rose but it also signifies familiar love and domestic happiness. Yellow roses also symbolize fun and freedom. Today, the yellow rose is used to embrace a new beginning, apologize or express sympathy, and to say, "remember me" , "I am sorry', or "I care." Yellow roses are appropriate for marking the beginning of a new life together or for starting all over again. A Yellow rose with red tip indicates friendship falling in love.

Pastel or pale blends represent sociability and friendship. And the meaning of roses in mixed colors - 'you're everything to me'. A mixed-color bouquet carries all of the meanings of each individual rose.

Rosebuds symbolize beauty, youth and a heart innocent of love or: “You are young and beautiful.” Withered white roses can mean either of two things: fleeting beauty or “you made no impression.” A withered red rose means "I would rather die...our love is over." Hybrid tea roses say “I’ll remember you always”. A single rose stands for simplicity and means you are the only one. In full bloom, it means “I love you” or “I love you still.” It can also symbolize love at first sight. Two roses taped or wired together to form a single stem represent a commitment, an engagement or coming marriage. They represent the mutual feeling that the bond between the two of you is inseperable and nothing can come between you. Six roses means I miss you. Seven roses signifies infatuation. A dozen roses means "I love you" and denotes gratitude for your presence. Eighteen roses means "I am sorry." Twenty-five roses mean congratulations. Fifty roses means unconditional love. A full rose placed over two buds signifies secrecy and a crown made of roses stands for reward or virtue.

So there it is, all the meanings, of the color of roses! The next time you give or receive roses, you will know what their colors mean. Perhaps you will find out something someone may have been trying to tell you all along or you may tell someone something without saying a word and all because Color Talks!

Sec 3 camp

the campfire. .
our campsite.

on the 15th of August, all of the sec 3 students will be attending the sec 3 camp for 3 days. most of the sec 3 students will be looking forward to this fun event. this camp was held every year for all the sec 3 students. students attending this camp will surely enjoy it. it is a wonderful, once in a lifetime event. last year, i attended this camp. it was very fun and thrilling. i learnt alot from this camp. i learn how to co-operate, work as a team, new skills and also make new friends. it was a wonderful experience for me. there were many activities during my stay in the camp which was held at MOE dairy farm. there was flying fox, rockclimbing, different kinds of obstacle courses. we also went to bukit timah hill for hiking. but the most fun thing about the camp is the campfire. all the group sat around the campfire and cheered. teachers and also our dearest principal, Mr Nathan was also there celebrating with us. it was an unforgettable event. this camp taught me how to become more independent and learn how to persevere. students who are going for the sec 3 camp this year will surely enjoy it. however, it will be held at another campsite, Jalan Bahtera. ENJOY YOURSELVES!!! *for more pictures please visit pioneerss.moe.edu.sg.
Construction, construction, construction.!!

The construction of rebuilding Pioneer Primary School had started since the first day of school this year or even earlier in the later part of year 2006. The floor would always vibrate whenever the workers are drilling things though, which isn't a nice feeling. Although it's just a mild vibration, it feels like as if its having an earthquake!! =p Well, but we can't do anything to it as it is part of their job to complete the building before the dateline.

Besides the vibration, the noise 'pollution' produced by the machine isn't a good thing either. It interupts the lesson that is going on in class. Teachers will then have got to compete with the noise of the construction, hence trying to speak as loud as they can in order for us to hear. I would often get restless too, once i couldn't catch their words or hear clearly what they are speaking; hence not knowing what is it going on in class.

Especially nowadays where the National Day is around the corner, airplanes are flying here and there with loud engines which is even more distracting. But overall, was still quite lucky for us to have a classroom at 3rd level compared to those people having their classes on the 1st or 2nd level. But this construction that is going on gives us a chance to go to an enclosed room too which is air-conditioned like the library, AVA or Possibility Centre. ^^

Hopefully the construction would be over soon, which i doubt so. (:

Well, was looking forward to the next few coming up events too. It is the National Day celebration, as well as the sec3 camp. Hope it would be fun!!

Chinese Kung Fu Novel~!!

This year, I found myself was hooked by Chinese Kung Fu after reading the books which are written by jin yong . He was a perfect writer, all the youths in China have read his books. Now I am going to introduce a book called《The semi Gods and semi Devils》....

There were three main characters named Qiao Feng , Xuzhu , Duanyu. They had three different adventures and all became the topest Kung Fu players. In the end , they became sworn brothers
Qiao Feng started out as the leader of the beggar clan. In ancient China , both Beggar clan and Shaolin temple were the most powerful and strongest group. All the people were respecting them. At that time , a fight between Daliao(northern China) and Song(southern China) is processing. People in Daliao were called Qidan and ones in Song were called Hans. Apparently, Qiao Feng was brought into Song by his Qidan parents who were accidentally killed by an ambush group that thought his father was a dangerous spy. As a Qidan, Qiao Feng was unable to be the leader of a group of Hans, so he left them and started searching for his background and the murders who killed his parents. There were a lot things happened during his searching. However you need to read by yourself and find the answers..........
Xu Zhu started as a Shaolin monk, known for his kind-hearted and submissive nature. He accidentally solved a strange weiqi puzzle, which caused Wu Ya Zi, the grandmaster of the Xiaoyao sect, to give him a lifetime of internal energy. Later, he rescued a little girl who ends up being Tian Shan Tong Lao, the leader of the Vulture Peak Sect, who was cursed with an eternal youthful form. She coerced Xu Zhu to help her. He did not want to see her die, even though she did many, many things that he really does not agree with. He tried to protect life as much as possible.During this time, Xu Zhu broke Shaolin rules, his crimes were too heinous as he had eaten meat, slept with a woman, and killed people. So he was no longer a monk but the leader of the Vulture Peak Sect.
DuanYu was the young, naive prince of Dali(a ancient country).I thought he was the luckiest one in this book. His story was quite long, so I am going to post it another day. Huhhuh..leave some mystery for you.(accturally i am quite tired)
Go and read it , it is a very interesting book.(Also have movies)

Ren Weichen' first blog

I am Ren Weichen, actually it is my first time to write an English blog.Days before,I have a Chinese blog.I wrote it every two days, later,as the school work getting harder and harder,I did not write any more. Today I want to say something about my Peking Opera,I have learnt it for 4 years.I like it.Why?In fact there are a lot of reason. It is exactly brillian. Its beautiful, bright and dazzling coatume charms me very much. The music of Peking Opera is super melodious. The most important thing which attract me very much is the feeling, the feeling when you are acting on the stage, the moment when all of the audiences are looking attentively at you,you maybe will feelnervous, but most of the time, you will feel proud of yourself. The first time I joined the school opera club was a coincidence. At that time an opera tercher from the other province came to our school. It was her who establish the club. The intense curiosity made me sign up to join he club.I just want to know what Peking Opera is.As the matter of fact,I regret during the first lesson. The practice was extremely harsh, every day we have to split our legs, bend our body for handreds of times,no matter how painful it was we must persist. The reason why we insisted was just because of the chance for us to perform. 3 monthes later ,we got the first chance to perform in the school,it was my first time to perform i a public place,I was super nervous before I went onto the stage, but when I was on the stage indeed, the audience broke into rapturous applause,it brought me more confident.Immediately,I loved the feeling and decided to continue practise, and made my dream to be an opera actor. Now, 4 years later in Singapore,I got the chance to perform as well,I am really very delighted

EXCHANGE PROGRAMME

I had actually wanted to post about the school's ex-change programme too.But seemed to be late one stepped.Mei Qi had posted it.:)Well, but maybe I would still like to add on it.It had almost been one week since the Kagami High students came to visit our school though.

the Kagami High students

Back on the 26 and 27 of July, the Kagami High School students had came to our school.I am so glad that this programme is still going on smoothly over the years.Though,it was quite a pity that this time the Kagami High students are here for only two days;hence not having enough time to see them in school. So far as i knew,I think during those two days,Kagami High students had been with different level of classes having lessons in class, doing physical education, having some programmes as well as going to the Science Centre with some of our teachers.

at the Omi-Theatre at Science Centre

If your could remember, towards the end of this year January, the Germans had came to our school before too.I bet most of your remember them coming in to our class with some of our classmates to have lessons and did their physical education with us too.Their initiative in class to answer questions do impressed all of us though.

Its also true that we did have some interaction done with the Germany students in our secondary two days.Thinking back, where the time we used our own hands to make up dishes by the methods, ingredients and some of the picture in process of the food given by the Germans,it was really fun and enjoyable.I can also still remember that the food my group had made seemed not to be eatable for us but after our first bite,it taste so delicious;making us feel like having another bite of it.Half the class are able to meet the Germans only too;hence I guess those having the odd register numbers are the luckier ones.:)I am also glad to meet the Germany students and making their famous dish for them to try. This was really a meaning programme for us too.

hot stuff! xD

The Afghan hostages have been the talk of the town for quite some time now. This is an unfortunate event for the Korean christians who had gone to Afghan at a good will - to help, but in a twist of fate, now, they need help. For those who haven't heard of the news, i shall give u a short background of what it is about (:

23 Korean Christians, 15 of which are women, were seized by a couple of Taleban rebels from a bus while they were on their way to the Afghan capital, Kabul. The Koreans were on an aid mission.

The Taleban rebels want their fighters who have been jailed by the Afghans to be released and are using the Koreans as hostages.
2 male hostages have since been killed, one of whom were found with an astounding 10 gunshot wounds.

Just today, a woman who was said to be one of the 21 hostages left pleaded for help in a telephone conversation. She said the captives were ill and frightened and they had been seperated into different groups. She also pleaded the world to pray to save them.

protesters in Seoul calling for the group's release

Though there may not be much we can do, I'm sure our prayers would suffice.

Ahh well, enough of the sad stuff. Our school's exchange programme is defintely one of our school's plus points!((: The experience meeting people from other countries and interacting with them is indeed eye opening! I heard the Finnish students will be here this month, it'll be another different and intriguing experience for all of us!!! ((:

40-Years Old Bridge Collapsed

Bridge in Minneapolis, city of Minnesota breaked into sectors and collapsed into the Mississippi River on 1st of Augest 2007 at peak hours. 7 were dead,20 missing and 35 injured. Around 50 vehicles sink into the river.

Here are some image of this inccident

You can see how terrible the situation was at that time. The reason of the collapsed bridge was not yet confirm but there are suspected reasons like wear and tear, lack of maintenance or structural issues. It was said that the bridge was found faulty already years back but the major did not take any action back then. I felt terrible sorry for those who were dead or injured in this inccident.

Do YoU KnOw??

I am a big fan of MANCHESTER UNITED( soccer club). Last Thursday, when i was skimming through the news paper, i came a cross an article entitled," WANNA BET". And guess what shocked me? A picture of Manchester United, hero, Christiano Ronaldo also known as 'LADIES MAN' and the manager Alex Ferguson were shown BALD in the papers! That made me read that particular article.

From what i have read, Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson and Christiano Ronaldo are having a bet with each other on how many goals Ronaldo would score in the coming English Premier League season. And Ronaldo has offered to shave his hair off if he doesn't hit 20 league goals. But if he reaches the mark, Sir Alex Ferguson will have to shave his own head. In my opinion, Manchester United manager is taking a risk on Betting with Ronaldo as this young player is almost scoring more than two goals in a match. But this has been a challenging role for Ronaldo to give off his best shot and prove his BOSS that he can do it.I am looking forward to the English Premier League season and hope that Manchester United Wins!!

Superstitions

There are many superstitions around, but do you believe them? There are four main races in Singapore, so there are many of superstitions around. We are very careful not to offend people of other races. And because of this we have to follow there culture and superstition.

There are international superstitions. One of the superstitions is regarding the number thirteenth. It is said that Jesus has his last supper with twelve disciples and died the next day.So it is believed that thirteenth should not sit at the table with them.the number thirteenth is often link together with Friday.People say that whenever thirteenth fall on a Friday it is suppose to bring bad luck.No one should be walking under the ladder because it is consider as the last walk.

There are a few Chinese superstitions as well. The superstitions is that if a moth come into your house you are not suppose to kill it.The moth may happen to be your ancestors.Another superstition is that, we must not walk under other people undergarment like those which are hung at the window of flats. This can be understood because it is not very pleasant to look at other garment imagine walk other one.

In Indian origin, there is a superstition that if a cat cross your path it is consider as bad luck.It is also consider as bad luck when a snake or a tortoise comes visiting your house. This may have originated when people in the past have bad luck after a snake or tortoise come visiting.

Do you think that superstitions work?Actually it is proven that more accident happen on Friday the thirteenth that other day.So do they work?Actually scientist explain that it is because of our mindset. When we believe strongly that something is going to happen, we will making it happen. So all we have to do is to stop all this superstitions flashing through our mind.Till now no one has proven that supertitions do work or do not work.It is still up to you to decided!

Thingyan

Thingyan is the Burmese New Year Water Festival and usually falls around mid-April (usually on 14th to 17th). This festival is the happiest fastival for the Burmese people. This festival is mainly about playing with water.
We Burmese people believe that if festival is not only for fun but this festical is to wash away all our bad things we did in the whole year
